A reason to believe that this platform is our future
I found it very serendipitous that a friend of mine sent me the link to an article by Kevin Kelly from Wired magazine. Why? Because in it he describes how convinced he was that Wikipedia would never work... and how much it has changed his thinking in the deepest sense that it actually does. Given that Zaadz is now Gaia, and there are all kinds of questions about whether or not this "will work" I found this article absolutely refreshing... a reminder of just how much is possible... After all, Zaadz and now Gaia are always proving that when enough individuals care enough... the result is always good. Check this particular quote out...
“Before we say, "Impossible!" I say, let's see. I know all the reasons why law can never be written by know-nothing amateurs. But having already changed my mind once on this, I am slow to jump to conclusions again. The Wikipedia is impossible, but here it is. It is one of those things impossible in theory, but possible in practice. Once you confront the fact that it works, you have to shift your expectation of what else that is impossible in theory might work in practice.”
read the rest… it’s fantastic.

That is a good article! Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
One of the things about Wikipedia that I love is that so many people contribute. so misinformation is weeded out pretty smartly. And if there's unconscious misinformation (for example: where almost everyone believes a certain thing, even if it's not true) then the errors are going to be no worse than if an 'expert' had been hired for an old-fashioned encyclopedia and had bashed out his or her best guess at the truth.
And, at bottom, it re-enforces the rather unusual idea (these days) that people are, on the whole, good folks who are benevolent in intent, and who want to share important knowledge in a meaningful way. It's not all crazies and freaks out there, despite what the current administration would like you to believe. Think about it; “War on Terror” is the slogan. But war is by definition about terror, and the creation of it, so presumably one can only eradicate terror by something even more horrible…. I don't even want to think about it.
Good will makes all things possible, even Wikipedia.
Exactly! There should be enough other examples….from the last 10 years.
And of course….all real breakthroughs in histroy has spikes, loopwholes….cul-de-sacs and contradictions too….thats the way for pioneers. WAsnt it Thomas Alva Edison who tried for ten thousands times? Again and again?..
Creating landing stripes for the future (Scharmer, Beuys) is a real adventure. Its not about using the already exsisting highways and paths..
