Can you measure Enlightenment?

Hi Everyone,
I just spent quite a weekend together with 50 or so other men and women (close spiritual comrades) as we explored with our teacher Andrew Cohen an insight of Andrew's that is beginning to redefine our work together. It has everything to do with a view on Enlightenment that should indeed be measurable for those interested in beginning to try to define with objectivity and serious scrutiny what Enlightenment might look like through the lens of AQAL....
Andrew writes about it here.. so please do check it out...
looking forward to comments... and more later...

Goodness, Terri. Thanks for sharing this. And what a good question … is it possible to measure or quantify enlightenment? My guess would be no, at least not by using any objective markers. It would be akin to trying to measure love. I think most of us can say that there are obviously greater and lesser degrees of both, but realizing this has less to do with peoples actions and behaviors than it does on a certain integrity of presence, and I'm not sure this latter can be so much measured as known.
But it's a beautiful question, all the same, and I'll be curious to see what happens with Andrew's continued exploration!
I'll volunteer myself to work with any folks there who want to explore how to bring an integral methodological pluralism to this “measurement” issue – objectivity is indeed good, as it is related to the impersonal perspective Andrew aspires to. But within an imp, objectivity is situated by both subjectivity and intersubjectivity – and there are specific methodologies that enact each.
Huge and interesting topic (he says as he stops talking about it :)

Durwin
